Preparation time 12 minutes. Cooking time about 10 minutes.
We used the Tellfresh® Microsafe® 3.5 litre oblong storer with steaming rack and the Tellfresh® Microsafe® 750 ml round storer.
4 eating apples (or cooking apples)
4 tablespoons sultanas
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
45 grams butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons golden syrup
Peel apples from top, removing one-third of the peel. Core the apples. In the 750 ml round storer, mix sultanas and nuts. Mash butter with sugar with sultanas and nuts. Pack filling into apples.Put steaming rack in the 3.5 litre oblong storer. Add 1/2 cup water.
Stand apples on the rack. Pour a little golden syrup on top of each apple. Put lid on storer with red vent open. Microwave on high until apples are soft (about 10 minutes – timing will depend on the type of apples).
Remove from microwave. Let stand for 3 minutes.
If not tender enough, microwave again for a further 3 minutes.
Serve with a spoonful of the syrup around each apple.
