Golden Sautéed or Grilled Potatoes

The best golden potatoes are those that are cooked first. This is a quick and easy way to achieve that result.

Serves 2 to 3. 

Preparation time 8 minutes. Cooking time 10 minutes in microwave (plus about 5 minutes later to sauté or 5 minutes later to grill).

We used the Microsafe® jug.

500 grams potatoes

Quarter the potatoes. Put into the jug. Put lid on jug with pourer open. Microwave on high for 10 minutes.

Remove from microwave. Drain well. Let rest for 2 minutes. Leave the flap open while the food is hot. Sauté or grill (see below).

To sauté:
Heat 30 grams butter and 2 tablespoons oil in a frying pan. Add potatoes and cook, turning over for 5 minutes until crusty and golden.

To grill:
Preheat griller. Butter a sheet of foil. Place foil in griller and put potatoes on it. Press down gently on potatoes with a fork until slightly crushed. Trickle with some olive oil or butter and grill until the crumpled tops are golden.
