 | Berries and Bananas in Maple Sauce | An easy sauce to make, it can be served with vanilla ice cream or over pancakes. Drained canned cherries or mango can also be used.
Serves 4.
Preparation time 5 minutes. Cooking time 4 minutes.
We used the Tellfresh® Microsafe® 1.5 litre round storer (without lid and steaming rack) but you can also use the Microsafe® jug
½ cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
½ cup orange juice
30 grams butter
1 punnet (250 grams) hulled strawberries
2 bananas, cut into chucks
| Put maple syrup, orange rind, orange juice and butter into the storer. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Add the fruit. Microwave on high for 1 minute.
Let rest for 1 minute before serving.
Note: The fruit needs to be heated just briefly in the sauce; too long a time and the berries can become acid.
