Berries and Bananas in Maple Sauce

An easy sauce to make, it can be served with vanilla ice cream or over pancakes. Drained canned cherries or mango can also be used.

Serves 4. 

Preparation time 5 minutes. Cooking time 4 minutes.

We used the Tellfresh® Microsafe® 1.5 litre round storer (without lid and steaming rack) but you can also use the Microsafe® jug

½ cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
½ cup orange juice
30 grams butter
1 punnet (250 grams) hulled strawberries
2 bananas, cut into chucks
Put maple syrup, orange rind, orange juice and butter into the storer. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Add the fruit. Microwave on high for 1 minute.

Let rest for 1 minute before serving.

Note: The fruit needs to be heated just briefly in the sauce; too long a time and the berries can become acid.
