 | Rich Custard | Serves 4.
Preparation time 4 minutes. Cooking time 6 minutes.
We used the Microsafe® jug.
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon custard powder
1 egg
1 1/2 cups milk
| Mix in jug sugar and custard powder with egg. Slowly add milk, stirring. Put lid on jug with pourer open. Microwave on high for 6 minutes, whisking every 2 minutes through pourer.
Remove from microwave. Whisk again through pourer to make the texture very silky. Serve.
Note: For a thin custard or one to use for a rice pudding, use 2 cups of milk. The custard will firm and thicken if served chilled.
Chocolate Custard
Mix 1/2 cup finely chopped dark or milk chocolate into the hot cooked custard.
Let stand for about 3 minutes. Stir well.
